Philosophy
Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart. Since we are redeemed, we must be concerned about both. At Evangel Academy, we are concerned about what goes into the student's mind and what is in the heart, for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks or that the body dresses.
General Principles
Campus Wear is in effect from 8:00AM - 2:30PM. Standards of neatness and modesty apply the entire school day. After 2:30PM, and for all school extracurricular events, modesty and moderation principles apply to student dress. At such times, school personnel have the right to address these issues if in question.
Hair should be neat, clean, and the normal color. Boys' hair may reach the top of the collar or shorter. No other outerwear except as stated in the uniform code is to be worn in the classrooms.
No caps or hats are to be worn in the school buildings. Girls only may wear earrings that are single and appropriate for a child, as determined by the faculty and staff. Shoes may be dressy or casual, sandals must have a back strap, and tennis shoes should be clean.
Sanctions
- Continued violation of dress standards could lead to suspension or expulsion, not for violation of the dress code, but for rebellion and disobedience.
- Attendance at the Academy is a privilege, not a right. The faculty and administration reserve the right to enforce this uniform code by all appropriate means and to make judgments in cases of dispute.
